TriMet,BRIDGE Housing, and Hacienda CDC recognize the importance of the Hollywood Transit Center as a hub for transit riders, Hollywood residents and their neighbors, and others in the metro area. Working with the development team, TriMet will develop a next generation transit hub by:

  • Modernizing the transit center to create a mobility hub that seamlessly connects buses, MAX trains, shared micro-mobility, pedestrian and bike connections, bike storage and other sustainable modes of transportation
  • Replacing outdated and redundant TriMet infrastructure and equipment with modern, green, and efficient equivalent items
  • Enhancing public access, focusing on safety, improved bike and pedestrian access, and improved user-experience, environment and passenger wayfinding
  • Collaborating with the City of Portland to determine viable street improvements, including safety improvements to the Halsey Street/42nd Avenue intersection, as well as other pedestrian and bike access improvements
  • Delivering a project that maximizes the number of affordable homes on the site, supporting the City of Portland’s and TriMet’s goals for transit-oriented development and increasing MAX and bus ridership
  • Committing to meet customer needs for continuity of service during and after construction by prioritizing safety and effective communication while improving connectivity
