TriMet and BRIDGE Housing, a non-profit affordable housing developer, and Hacienda CDC, a Culturally-Specific Community Development Corporation, believe that the values of diversity, equity and inclusion should be integrated into the project from start to finish. To ensure this, everyone working on the project is committed to:
- An authentic, collaborative engagement process with communities of color and underserved populations to understand their priorities and ideas for transit, housing, and community programming at hollywoodHUB
- Creating an inclusive community by integrating permanently affordable homes for transit dependent families and individuals within a mixed-use development. The program will include a shared courtyard and ‘paseo’ with community-driven events that will encourage a sense of belonging and genuine relationships between tenants, local businesses, and the Hollywood neighborhood
- Dedicating 100% of homes to be permanently affordable and reserved for individuals and families living on a low income that is less than or equal to 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI)
- Promoting small and minority-owned businesses by engaging women, minority and disadvantaged small businesses to perform at least 30% of planning, design and construction work
- Partnering with culturally-specific and culturally-responsive community-based organizations during and after project development to ensure ongoing services are provided to households within the hollywoodHUB community and to provide long-term stability and resilience
